It’s Harvest Season in the Wine Country, and the Grapes are comin’ off the vine. What will this vintage bring us?? We’ll have to remember a few years down the line when the reds are being released what a wet winter & hot summer we had this year, and how those weather extremes may affect the wine.
I just returned from 4 days in Cambria, where we usually have an annual get-together with my siblings. September is almost always some of the best weather of the year on the Central Coast, and this year lived up to the expectations! If you’ve never been there, and appreciate a lot of artisitic energy, gorgeous ocean views on a rugged coastline, great hiking trails, biking trails and/or just peaceful times by the sea, I highly recommend the Cambria area. It is just 24 miles west of Paso Robles on the beautiful Hwy 1, just a few miles south of San Simeon.
We are literally days away from releasing our new Dinner Menu. I’m waiting for Greg to get the last few food items in, and to get the new menu covers, and we will be offering our new delicioius dishes. Of course, we don’t change the entire menu, as we know this might cause a local panic (especially where Calamari Dore and Ginger Shrimp Ravioli are concerned), but please do realize that when we put new items on the menu, some other items come off. So, What’s New? Well, for starters, we are joining w/ Olivier’s Butcher Shop to offer you some great meat selections. We have tried a few of the new menu items out as specials, and they have been very well received. We’ve had to tweak a couple of things to make them just right, so we feel pretty confident with our new items. As far as small plates go, we will be offering Mahi Mahi Street Tacos, Chile Rellano Del Mar (with Crab & Shrimp), & Margherita Flatbread.
New Dinner items will include a 14 oz. Dri-aged grass-fed Rib-Eye Steak, served w/ Chef Greg’s house made steak sauce on the side. (you can always request the Cabernet Mushroom Demi Glaze if you’d like.) Somerset Broil, w/ a Sauce Diablo…an old “fave” with a new twist…Mediterranean Chicken Roulade, breaded and filled w/ Fennel, Leek and Olive Tepenade…Chicken Saltimbocca…Portobella Stack and a Gnocci w/ Walnut Pesto. Please come in soon and try our great new items! We should be on board by Friday, October 6th.

Meanwhile, remember that we still have our Happy Hour at the Wine Bar every day from 3-6 PM, where you can purcase a small plate for the menu price, and add a flight of 4 wines for just $5.00.
