Well, before we get into what’s going on in June, let me say “whew”! Between Mother’s Day, Memorial Day Weekend, and Chef Greg’s 60th Birthday all happening in 2 weeks time, I have to say, it was all fun good and busy. We had a fabulous month of business in May, which of course is just what we always want! As the saying goes “when you’re busy…you’re busy” held true, and this week is a week to catch our breath and get ready for summer.
If you haven’t come to the Friday Night Wine Down by the Fire event at Red Poets Tasting Room Patio, you really need to get on over to share in the community gathering with great wines by Red Poets, great food from the Gold Vine, and great music by local musicians! I’m telling you, this is a really good way to spend a Friday evening. Charlie & Renee (owners of Red Poets) could tell from the first gathering that more seating and some umbrellas would be needed for the summer, and that is now done! The event is from 5-7:30 on Friday evenings. The address is 5951 Mount Aukum Rd. (just around the corner from the Grill). Starting June 4th, The Gold Vine Grill will be featuring live acoustic music from 5:30 – 7:30, with the lovely sounds of Tamra Godey. What a great way to spend a Sunday evening…and…Sunday’s are corkage free! So bring a bottle of wine, have some great food, and relax and listen to some good music.
On Wednesday, June 21st, don’t miss this “12 @ 6” Dinner! We’ll be joining with Frank & Tina from Narrow Gate Vineyards to bring you a 4-Course Wine Paired Meal. Dinner starts at 6:00, and seating is limited to 12 guests and the winemakers. Dinner is $55.00 per person, which includes all food, wine, tax & gratuity. Sunday, June 18th is Father’s Day You know that Chef Greg is going to prepare something really special for all of you, so get Dad away from the BBQ or off of the couch, and treat him to something he’ll truly enjoy…a meal at the Gold Vine Grill.
Our Wine Recommendation for this Month is the Sentivo Vineyards Sparkling Brut which we are proud to be offering on our list by the glass or by the bottle! Caesar Salad Dressing Yield: 1 Qt.
Egg yolks, beaten 3
Warm water 2 oz.
Add & Mix Well:
Dijon mustard 2 tsp
Garlic, minced 1/3 Cup
Anchovy, minced 2 Can
Worchesershire 3 Tbsp
Tobasco 2 tsp
Lemon juice 1 oz.
Salt, kosher 1 Tbsp
Black Pepper, table grind 1 tsp
Canola oil 4 Cups
Olive oil blend 2 Cups
Red wine vinegar ¾ Cup
Grated parmesan cheese ¾ Cup
With mixer running at med/med high speed:Add oils extra slowly to start, then in a slow streamIncorporate vinegar at intervals, then finish with parmesan cheese
