Special Events June-2018

“12 @ 6” Wine Paired Dinner this month will be with Nathan from Sierra Vista Winery. This dinner will be on Thursday, June 21st.    It is a 4-Course Wine Paired Meal w/ the Wine maker or a knowledgable representative of the winery.  The dinner is $55.00 per person, which includes all food, wine, tax and gratuity.   This dinner starts at 6 PM.  I will post our guest wine maker as soon as I get a firm date.

June 9th:  The Wagon Train will be rolling through Placerville on it’s trip  over the Sierra Nevada, and will be welcomed by a parade, food, fun and activities.  This is a tradition that takes place every year to commemorate the route of the historic Pony Express.

June 17th:  Father’s Day!  What better way to let Dad know how great he is than to treat him to a delicious meal at the Gold Vine Grill.  You know Chef Greg will be creating a great special for this very special day.

May 5th is Cinco De Mayo!  Come & see what Chef Greg will cook up for your fiesta meal.

May 13th is Mother’s Day.  Have a look at our Brunch menu below, and be sure to call us for a reservation.  Brunch will be from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM  Chef Greg will also be preparing a great special for dinner.  So whether it’s Brunch or Dinner, show Mom how much you appreciate her with a great meal from the Gold Vine Grill

Spring has definitely Sprung!!

 Easter comes to us on April 1st, and Gold Vine will be having our traditional delicious Brunch menu added on to our regular lunch menu, for those of you who are looking for something a little “extra” special.

Our “12 @ 6” Dinner is on!  We are joining talents w/ Les & Sharon from Element 79 Vineyards.   They are fairly new to the area, and are located at 7350 Fair Play Rd, next to Toogood Vineyards.  Our dinner will be on Wednesday, April 18th at 6 PM.  Chef Greg will prepare 4 delicious courses to pair with their exceptional wines.  have tried several of the Element 79 wines, and have been quite impressed.  Currently, we are offering their Rose on our wine list.

Passport Weekends 2018 will be held on April 21st & 22nd as well as April 28th & 29th.  The hills will be jumping w/ wine & food enthusiasts on both of these weekends as people from near and far explore the various vineyards and wineries in El Dorado County.  For detailed information on the specific events being held on these weekends, and the participating wineries, please visit eldoradowines.org

Events-March-2018

I’m not sure if this qualifies as a special event for all of you, but it sure does for me….the time change goes into effect on Sunday, March 10th at 2 AM, and I just LOVE it!  I am a much more productive person in the daylight hours, and feel much more energetic.  It also indicates to us that Spring is just around the corner.  The flowers will be blooming, the plants will be budding with new growth, and the grapes will be ripening!  It’s ALL good!

Our very popular “12 @ 6” Wine Paired Dinners will be returning this month on Wednesday, March 21 at 6 PM.  I’m working at  getting Borjon Winery for our featured wine pairing for this month.  This dinner is a 4-Course Wine Paired meal.  The cost is $55.00 per person, which includes all food, wine, tax and gratuity.  Reservations are required.  Call Mary at (530) 626-4042.

March 11th marks the beginning of “March Madness”, the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament.  If you are a college basketball fan, you can come to the Gold Vine & watch the championship games while enjoying a great meal.  I’ll check in w/ Chef Greg to see if he can whip up some “game-worthy” snacks!

Easter comes this year on April 1st.  Plan ahead to attend our Easter Brunch.  We will offer a lovely Brunch menu along with our regular lunch menu on this special day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, February 14th:

Valentine’s Day lands on Wednesday, February 14th, and we are ready for you!  Every year since 2004, we join creative forces with Busby Cellars and put on a wine and food feast!  This year will be no exception…and we’re sure you’ll be happy with our efforts.  We still have a few seats left, so please call this week if you’d like a reservation.  (530) 626-4042.  If for some reason, we fill up, we always keep a waiting list…or just come on out the weekend before, and beat the crowds to enjoy any of the great items on our regular menu.

President’s Weekend, February 16-17-18.

Many of you will find yourself with a 3-day weekend for the President’s Day weekend.  You know, we almost always get a great “False Spring” run of days in February, and the days are getting longer now, so why not get together with your special someone, and spend a couple of nights here in Fair Play, visit some of our lovely vineyards and tasting rooms, and come out to the Gold Vine Grill for lunch or dinner?  We’d LOVE to see  you!

January 15th:  Martin Luther King Day…commemorating one of the most courageous activists of our era, who led a profound civil rights movement giving African Americans the strength to speak up against racial injustice.  This year the Holiday falls on his actual birthday. Take some time this weekto reflect on his contributions to our nation.

Sunday, December 3rd:  15th Annual Downtown Somerset Holiday Open House  Join us this Sunday from 2:00 – 4:30 PM for our annual holiday celebration.  Comlimentary appetizers and desserts will be available, as well as wine poured by our local wine makers from Cedarville, Busby and Behard.  Tamra Godey will be adding delightful holiday music to the party.  Please drop by and help us to celebrate our anniversary and the Holiday Season.  

December 16th:  Gold Vine Grill will be catering the Christmas Party at Saluti Cellars.  If you are a member of their wine club, come to enjoy a lovely evening of food, music and wine with Randy & Tina.  

December 24th & 25th:  Gold Vine Grill will be closed.  Have a blessed Holiday. 

December 31st:  Gala 5-Course Wine Paired Dinner.  Join us for our wonderful New Year’s Eve Dinner Celebration.  Each course is thoughtfully paired with a lovely local wine.  There will be 2 seatings.  First seating from 5 – 7:30 PM for a cost of $75.00 per person;  Second Seating is from 8:30-??? for a cost of $85.00 per person.  The second seating includes a Sparkling Wine Toast at the end of the evening.  The cost includes all food, wine, tax and gratuity.  This event always sells out, and is filling up fast, so please call soon, as it is reservation only.  The menu follows:
